VOCATION DISCERNMENT OPPORTUNITIES FOR 2006-2007

There is no charge for any of these events, and we are happy to help men with travel costs to and from these events if needed.

    Weekend at the Novitiate
    October 6-8
    St. Paul, Minnesota
    This weekend is intended only for “advanced” discerners who are seriously consindering applying in the next year or two.

    Come and See Weekend
    October 27-29
    Jesuit House of Studies at Loyola University in Chicago
    This weekend experience is for inquirers who are interested in learning more about Jesuit life and training and in getting to meet young Jesuits in training. The weekend starts with Mass at 5 p.m. Friday and finishes with lunch Sunday.

    Come and See Discernment Retreat
    December 16-20
    Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska
    This retreat is for more serious candidates. The first day, young Jesuits in training will share their vocation stories and talk about life as a Jesuit and the vocational discernment process. The rest of the retreat is mostly silent with prayer and individual spiritual direction, with common prayer, daily Mass and a Reconciliation Service.

    Weekend at the Novitiate
    March 30-April 1
    Jesuit Novitiate in St. Paul, Minnesota
    This weekend is for inquirers who are interested in learning more about Jesuit life and training. You’ll meet the first-year novices in St. Paul, who will share their vocation stories and experiences of Jesuit life and formation.

    Jesuit Ordinations
    June 8
    7:30 p.m. at Gesu Church in Milwaukee, Wisconsin

    Six Weeks a Jesuit Program
    Summer 2007

    This is an opportunity to live in a Jesuit community and work in a Jesuit ministry with other men considering the Jesuits.

    Vocation Days
    June 23-25
    Our Jesuit vacation spot on the Chain of Lakes near Waupaca, Wisconsin

    Younger candidates who are high school age or college (freshmen or sophomore) are invited. You will hear from young Jesuits in training in the mornings. The days include Mass, small group sharing, and outdoor recreation.

    First Vow Celebration
    August 11
    St. Paul, Minnesota
    Join us for the joyful celebration of the first vows of the second-year novices from the St. Paul novitiate community.


Vocation discernment groups available
We will have discernment groups this year for men considering the Jesuits in Milwaukee and Omaha. For information, contact the Vocation Office in Milwaukee.
