Dear Friends,
As I write this letter, we eagerly await a visit from Fr. General Peter-Hans Kolvenbach, SJ,
the spiritual and administrative leader of all Jesuits worldwide.
I invited Fr. Kolvenbach to visit our Province to help us celebrate the 125th anniversary
of the Jesuits coming to Omaha and the upcoming 50th anniversary of the beginning of the
Wisconsin Province. He will spend two days in Omaha, Oct 7-8, and give a major address
titled “Jesuits and Lay Partners: Cooperating with Each Other in Mission.”
In the “Kingdom Meditation,” one of the key prayer experiences of the Spiritual
Exercises, St. Ignatius asks the retreatant to pray about the reality that the Lord invites us
to labor with Him in bringing His salvation to the whole world.
This edition of Jesuit Journeys suggests ways all people – young and old; lay, ordained,
and religious; women and men – respond to God’s invitation to labor with Him for the good
of others.
Thank you for all you do to support and join us in these efforts.
