Fr.Hector D’Souza, SJ (left), of the Kohima Region, has been appointed provincial of India by Society of Jesus Fr. General Peter-Hans Kolvenbach. This title carries with it the responsibility of heading up the South Asia Assistancy, similar to how the 10 U.S. provinces fall under the direction of U.S. Assistancy President Fr. Brad Schaeffer, SJ who is based in Washington, DC.

Fr. D’Souza is the former regional superior for Kohima. He visited the Wisconsin Province in April of 2002 with Fr. Greg Coelho, SJ (right), the present Kohima regional superior.
