OMAHA – The annual Province Days gathering of Jesuits,
their various co-workers in ministry, and Ignatian
Associates is highlighted this year by the Ordination Mass
of Daniel Hendrickson, SJ and
Christopher Collins, SJ.
The Mass will be held at 7:30 p.m.
Friday, June 9 at St. John’s Church on
the Creighton University campus.
The Most Rev. William J. Dendinger,
bishop of Grand Island, Nebraska, will
be the ordaining prelate. The general
public is welcomed to attend the Mass
and a special reception that follows.
The two days preceding the Mass
will include a series of daily gatherings,
events, and workshops, the focus of which will celebrate
the impact “Three Companions” (St. Ignatius Loyola, St.
Francis Xavier, and Bl. Peter Faber) have on the works
Jesuits engage in. Program topics are linked to a special
Jubilee Year 2006 celebration for Jesuits worldwide as they
honor Ignatius on the anniversary of his death in 1556 and
Xavier and Faber on the anniversaries of their births in 1506.
Sr. Marian Cowan, CSJ will present a talk on the
spirituality within the Spiritual Exercises, based on
her many years of involvement with the Exercises and
formation. Fr. Hector D’Souza, SJ (provincial of India)
will speak on the Ignatian Spirituality
of Evangelization. Fr. Lukács János,
SJ (provincial of Hungary) will speak
on the impact of the spirituality of the
Jesuit Constitutions.
