Comings and Goings
Fr. Jim Grummer, SJ, former Wisconsin Province provincial, was named to succeed Fr. Frank Case, SJ of the Oregon Province as one of four general assistants to Jesuit Fr. General Peter-Hans Kolvenbach, SJ in Rome. In Vatican City, Pope Benedict XVI named 15 prelates to become cardinals in March – among them was French Jesuit Albert Vanhoye, SJ, 82, former rector of the Pontifical Biblical Institute and secretary of the Pontifical Biblical Commission.
Fr. Jack Treloar, SJ will become
Wisconsin Province Society of Jesus
provincial assistant for higher education
and bookkeeper for theological studies
effective Sept. 1. He will also serve as the
provincial’s delegate for conduct
in ministry.
Kim Sang-yong Dominque, SJ, of the Korean Province,
has joined the Arrupe House Jesuit Community in
Milwaukee. He is studying English as a second language at
the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee
before beginning theology studies at the
Jesuit School of Theology at Berkeley in
August. Another international guest is
Fr. Richard Jarain, SJ. He comes from
the Kohima Region and will be living
with the Creighton University Jesuit
Community while mentoring with
Fr. Larry Gillick, SJ in Ignatian Spirituality
with the goal of becoming Kohima’s novice
director. In August, Fr. Jarain will move to
Loyola University-Chicago to begin work
on a degree in pastoral counseling.
Beginning with the fall
2006 semester, Fr. Michael
G. Lee, SJ (left ) joins
the Theological Studies
Department at Loyola
Marymount University in
Los Angeles as an associate
professor. Fr. Thomas A. Simonds, SJ,
is finishing his tertianship assignment in Central America
and, effective Aug.1, will teach in the Creighton University
Department of Education.

as acolytes at a ceremony in
Chicago.
Fr. Willard J. Dressel,
SJ has been missioned
to the St. Camillus Jesuit
Community in Wauwatosa,
Wisconsin to pray for the
Church and Society. He will continue some additional duties
at the Arrupe House Jesuit Community on a limited basis.
