Mission Casa Romero is a Catholic renewal center, open to all, which aims to serve the spiritual needs of the urban poor. The Center’s vision is found in Luke 24: That those who come here in the midst of life’s distractions may find a place where they can reflect on and freely speak of their hopes and dreams, experience the support and companionship of others sharing their journey, and after the breaking of bread, may return home enriched and refreshed. Casa Romero has developed programs primarily to serve the surrounding Latino community without excluding anyone else. The atmosphere of a real casa, Spanish word for home, reflects a deep orientation toward enhancing human relationships so dear to the Latino culture. The programs, therefore, foster peer-to-peer communication and small group interaction. The renewed energy of individuals and core groups who are nurtured at Casa Romero invigorates larger groups in families, parishes, and other human service organizations.
