 The Social Apostolate
The Jesuit social apostolate is intimately linked to Jesuit mission and identity. To be a companion of Jesus today requires Jesuits to enter into the service of faith in which the promotion of justice is an absolute requirement. The social and economic injustices rooted in many sectors of our modern cities cry out for compassion, imagination, and passionate enterprise.
In the Wisconsin Province, a renewal center on Milwaukee's South Side, an affordable housing project in a blighted Omaha neighborhood, The Jesuit Middle School of Omaha, the Nativity Jesuit Middle School, and Homeboyz Interactive are all examples of how human vision and the Spirit can be catalysts for tangible change.
